Larry and Marilyn Marshall started Larry D Marshall Disposal, Inc. in July of 2000; picking up the first bag of garbage in Marilyn’s mini-van. After the argument about using the mini-van, Larry started using his pick-up truck, while Marilyn ran the business operations from their home in New Harmony. It did not take long for the Marshalls to realize the need for an actual garbage truck.

Marshall Disposal has experienced tremendous growth over the years. Within a couple months of inception in 2000, Larry and Marilyn purchased their first rear-load garbage truck! Exploring new territory in 2002, Marshall Disposal’s first roll-off truck was purchased and was instantly put to work! Due to the constant growth as well as Larry & Marilyn’s desire to retire, they brought their son-in-law, Zachary Goebel, on board in 2015 as Operations Manager. Zachary & his wife, Amanda, have the same desire to continue to grow Marshall Disposal while retaining the small business mindset, quality of work, and customer service. In the summer of 2019, Marshall Disposal added the first 2 Automatic Side Load trucks – this was a huge and exciting step in the efficiency and safety of our routes and drivers! In March of 2021, Marshall Disposal purchased Tri-State disposal and added over 1,000 residential customers to their family as well as 2 more trucks to their fleet. In the spring of 2021, Marshall Disposal ordered their very first Front-load garbage truck along with several hundred front-load containers.

As of January 2024, Marshall Disposal employs 31 local men and women, has a fleet of 24 trucks, while diligently servicing over 12,000 customers!

In 2020 Larry and Marilyn celebrated 20 years of business, 30 years of marriage, and 50 years of life! Thanks to all of our customers!!
